Pottery

Born in Kagawa, Japan, I came to NYC to find myself and discovered my love of making pottery and art, which connected to my family tradition of making "Urushi" (Japanese lacquerware).

In 2003 I opened my first pottery studio in Brooklyn, NY, and began selling my work in Soho and Tribeca. My husband and I moved to Japan in 2004 and opened our studio there, participating in many solo and group shows. After 15 years of living in Japan, we came back to New York.

In 2019 I returned to making pottery in Chelsea NYC.
